This toolbox session discusses preoperational checks to perform before using a band saw, how to safely operate the saw, and when you should stop the saw.  It also provides several things you must not do when using a band saw.

Learning Outcomes:

At the completion of this course, learners will:

  1. Learn the pre-use checks that should be done before you use a band saw.
  2. Learn the critical importance of keeping your hands in a safe position when using a band saw.
  3. Learn when to stop the saw.
  4. Understand that the band saw is not safe to use to cut very small items, cylindrical or irregular stock.
