Psychosocial hazards at work are aspects of work and situations that may cause a stress response, which in turn can lead to psychological or physical harm.

This course provides examples of psychosocial hazards in the workplace including work design, high-risk tasks, physically hazardous environments, and social factors at work.

The training includes examples of how to identify psychosocial hazards and what to watch out for. The course explains how to develop good work design, and how to review your processes to continually improve.

Learning Outcomes:

At the completion of this course learners will:

  1. Understand, recognise and identify psychosocial hazards in their workplace.
  2. Learn about the impact of job design, occupational uncertainty, value and respect, lack of resources and the social factors of work.
  3. Understand how to collect data to identify psychological safety.
  4. Learn when to observe how work is done and what to watch out for that may lead to increased psychological impact.
  5. Learn how to address role overload, new tasks, and new technology.
  6. Learn when to review the work environment to assess psychological safety.
