In a mechanical workshop, fabrication work is often undertaken. There is generally considerable movement of materials and components using overhead cranes and forklifts.

When mobile equipment in operation is working alongside workers on foot there is a need for adequate and safe separation. This is to ensure that a worker does not come into contact with plant in operation or place themselves under a suspended load.

This course places a focus on the safety of workers navigating around moving equipment and overhead loads. The training discusses the risks of unauthorised access to areas within the workshop that are restricted.
