Slips and trips result in thousands of injuries every year. The most common ones are musculoskeletal injuries, cuts, bruises, fractures, and dislocations, but more serious injuries can also occur.
This course discusses the most common causes of slips and trips in the workplace and works through the hierarchy of controls to control these risks.
The training advocates eliminating these hazards whenever practicable at the design stage, with a focus on stairs and floor levels. Substitution, Isolation and Engineering control examples are provided where elimination of the hazard is impractical.
The training also provides examples of Administrative controls and discusses the appropriate PPE to use to prevent workers from slipping in both wet and dry conditions.
