After 10 years of growth and expanding our offering it was time for a rebrand to support our future development, and Tap into Safety is now trading as TIS Training.

Q: What does ‘TIS’ stand for?

A: Training Improvement Solutions (TIS).

In this article, we discuss the up and coming features of the platform that accompanies our rebranding.

Why The Name Change?

Tap into Safety began in 2014 on a mission to improve organisational safety culture. We were disappointed in the continued rise of workplace injuries and fatalities, especially in high-risk industries. By high-risk industries, we mean construction, mining, energy, transport and logistics.

To support improvement, we focussed on ‘blue-collar workers’ and set about developing custom-built interactive training courses around safety behaviour using panoramic scenes and hazard-spotting games completed on PC and mobile devices.

Two years later, we extended the Platform to include microlearning courses to improve mental health literacy.

Next, we developed custom-built induction and onboarding courses and beefed up our reporting.

Then we added training specifically for Supervisors as we noticed a lack of short courses for this group to improve their soft skills like communication, active listening and resolving workplace conflict.

This brought us to the COVID-19 years and there were significant requests to extend the platform to develop more plug-and-play courses around safety, supervision, compliance and governance. And to provide our course library in languages such as French and Spanish as well as English for both the Australian and USA markets. While still offering customisation.

As the world got back to work, we again extended the platform to include over 100 toolbox sessions on every topic we could think of, to provide microlearning refreshers completed in under 5 minutes.

Finally, we added those important compliance evidence extras like attaching policies, procedures and forms to inductions and our course library, for acknowledgement and recording into our reporting.

That brings us to today with a library of 200+ courses, reporting, integration and LMS features at a price point any business can afford!

You can see we’re no longer just a safety training platform, we’re so much more, hence the move to rebrand as TIS Training.

What’s Next for TIS Training?

With the rebranding to TIS Training comes the launch of the new backend of the software that powers the e-learning platform.

Now, we’re taking a back seat to encourage our clients to add their logos and colour palettes to make the platform look and feel like their own and provide a seamless integration.

Speaking of integration, we achieve this with APIs, webhooks and single-sign-on from your LMS or you can use TIS Training as a stand-alone platform.

TIS Training offers our complete 200+ course multilingual library as well as the option to host your organisation’s other training.

You can add supporting documents to our courses such as policies, procedures, forms and documents.

You can add additional mental health support materials.

We still custom-build courses and assessments that you might need that are not covered on the platform and we can edit any course that you’d like to add a personal touch.

What’s on the Roadmap?

Our clients have asked time and time again for TIS Training to offer LMS features and bit by bit we’re doing that.

The next step is to morph into a full LMS as well as continue to offer the training library, customisation, reporting, integration and multiple languages. We hear that many learning management systems lack content and we’re here to fill that gap!

To do this we need to add scheduling and alerting functions and that’s the current project. Watch this space as those capabilities are coming in the next six months!

Then we’ll extend our reporting functionality to provide even greater insights.
