This toolbox session discusses a common high-risk method to transfer a person’s legs onto the bed, to illustrate the risk of musculoskeletal injuries. The course then trains on 2 safe methods carers can use either as a one-person or two-person action.
Learning Outcomes:
At the completion of this course, learners will:
- Learn about a common high-risk method that is commonly used to transfer a person’s legs onto a bed.
- Learn about 2 safe methods that carers can use when working alone or together to transfer a person’s legs onto a bed.
- Understand how to have the person move their own legs if they can assist using an aid such as a towel to act as a sling.
